ABSTRAK< strong>< p>
< strong>Film dokumenter memiliki peran penting dalam menyampaikan realitas sosial dan membangun keterlibatan emosional antara pembuat film dan subjek Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan proses penyutradaraan film dokumenter Belongings Through Lines dengan menggabungkan pendekatan ekspositoris dan partisipatoris Pendekatan ekspositoris digunakan untuk menyusun narasi informatif melalui wawancara sedangkan pendekatan partisipatoris menekankan keterlibatan aktif pembuat film dalam kehidupan subjek Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penciptaan practice led research dengan tahapan pra produksi produksi dan pascaproduksi Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi kedua pendekatan menghasilkan dokumenter yang tidak hanya menyampaikan informasi tetapi juga menghadirkan pengalaman reflektif terhadap ruang dan memori Dokumenter ini menempatkan ruang benda dan komunitas sebagai bagian penting dari konstruksi narasi visual yang sekaligus berfungsi sebagai arsip sosial budaya Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penyutradaraan dokumenter dapat menjadi praktik kreatif yang bersandar pada teori namun fleksibel terhadap dinamika lapangan < em>< p>

< strong>Documentary films play a crucial role in conveying social realities and fostering emotional engagement between filmmakers and subjects This study aims to explain the directing process of the documentary film Belongings Through Lines by combining expository and participatory approaches The expository mode is used to structure informative narration through interviews while the participatory mode emphasizes the active involvement of the filmmaker in the subject s environment This research applies a practice led method involving pre production production and post production stages The results show that the combination of both approaches leads to a documentary that not only delivers information but also offers a reflective experience of space and memory The documentary positions space objects and community as integral elements of the visual narrative that also serve as a form of socio cultural archiving These findings demonstrate that directing documentaries can be a creative practice grounded in theory but adaptable to production dynamics< em>< p>
