The Grand Mosque in Kotamobagu is held with the aim to accommodate the worship activities of Muslims at the level of North Sulawesi Province, especially Kotamobagu, North Sulawesi Province which can accommodate up to thousands of pilgrims, although the location is not directly in the center of the provincial capital of this mosque is also part of the Center for Islamic Studies or Islamic Center, non-formal education. North Sulawesi community does not yet have the right worship container (grand mosque) in accordance with the standard of the ministry of religion and according to the needs of the Muslim community.based on data from the location that already exists in the field of the grand mosque located in manado Jl.W.R.Supratman, lawangirung, kec, waneang, Manado City, North Sulawesi. It is located in the center of the provincial capital but from the data of the Muslim community in North Sulawesi is more dominant to parts of Kotamobagu and BMR. So that the location is diverted to the right location based on data of the more dominant community to adhere to Islam, especially kotamobagu and surrounding areas (Bolaang Mongondow Raya) do not have a container that can accommodate the activities of Muslims in large numbers, good activities related to sharia worship are able to worship muamalah.
The mosque is a place of facilities and infrastructure in carrying out all activities related to Islamic issues. Therefore, Islamic architecture is suitable to be applied as an approach to the design of the Kotamobagu Grand Mosque.
With the theme "Islamic Architecture" it is expected that this building becomes one of the spiritual centers of worship in the Kotamobagu area that has an attraction for local tourists and foreign tourists and can lift economic growth in terms of tourism in North Sulawesi Province more precisely in Kotamobagu City. Because this Islamic architecture This shows Islamic values and does not violate Islamic sharia.
