Abstract

The problem in this research is about, the Impact of Cultural Globalization on the Young Generation in Kakaskasen Village in Tombulu language, where in Tomohon City to be precise, Kakaskasen Village has a culture, namely the Tombulu language as a form of historical heritage, but over time the use of Tombulu language among the Kakaskasen people , especially among the younger generation, it is quite rare to find it, this is due to the developmental impact of Globalization, in this case Cultural Globalization, while the focus of research is the Impact of Cultural Globalization on the younger generation due to, Cultural Differentiation, Cultural Convergence, and also Cultural Hybridization. especially in the Tombulu language in Kakaskasen Village. This study uses qualitative research methods, with observation and interview data collection techniques. As well as data analysis techniques using an ethnographic approach. The results of this study indicate that among the younger generation in Kakaskasen Village, they can no longer speak Tombulu actively due to internal factors and external factors, internal factors are the lack of education about the Tombulu language in the family environment, as well as external factors, namely the many influences of new cultures that are often studied, so that the time and opportunity to learn the Tombulu language is very limited, and contrary to learning new things. This is what makes young people in Kakaskasen Village no longer fluent in the Tombulu language.
