Perubahan Gaya Hidup Mandiri pada Generasi Muda di Desa Kalongan Kecamatan Kalongan Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe changes in the independent lifestyle of the younger generation in Kalongan Village, Kalongan District, Talaud Islands Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, using observation, documentation, and interviews as data collection techniques, the subjects in this study were purposively selected informants. Data analysis used interactive data analysis techniques. The findings in the study, independent lifestyle changes in the younger generation in the village of Central Kalongan seen from fashion, the younger generation today are more likely to be modern style, in terms of their mindset is more open to the development of the world, great curiosity about the outside world and focus on how to adapt to existing developments by equipping themselves with mastery of technology, from a cultural perspective more open to adaptation of western culture from the way of dressing, hairstyles, as well as language and social styles, and in terms of daily activities spend a lot of time surfing on social media (Facebook). These changes have had a positive impact on the younger generation in Kalongan village but also have a negative impact. The younger generation is expected to be more critical in responding to the times in terms of technological developments and other developments while still adhering to the cultural values ​​upheld by the Indonesian people.
