In the current era of globalization, proficiency in foreign languages, especially English, is crucial for social interaction and professional success. However, students often show a lack of enthusiasm for reading due to limited access to materials and traditional teaching methods. Recognizing the potential of technology to enhance literacy skills, this research investigates the use of the Quizizz application to improve reading comprehension among eighth-grade students in descriptive texts. Employing a pre-experimental design, the study utilized a one-group pre-test and post-test methodology. Students completed a pre-test, followed by six treatment sessions using Quizizz, and then a post-test. The pre-test mean score was 67.28, while the post-test mean score increased to 81.87, indicating significant improvement in reading comprehension. Statistical analysis revealed a significance value (Sig value) of 0.000, which is lower than the 0.05 significance level, resulting in the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1). These findings demonstrate that the Quizizz application effectively engages students and enhances their learning experience, proving to be a valuable strategy for improving reading skills in language instruction.
