The purpose of this study was to determine how the teacher's efforts to improve student Civic Knowledge. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection using interview techniques, observation and documentation study. This study found that teachers have made efforts to improve students' Civic Knowledge in accordance with predetermined professional standards based on the main aspects which are important benchmarks in increasing student Civic Knowledge. The main criteria for selecting Civics teaching materials are developed by teachers through steps that are in accordance with the determined indicators, including identifying various aspects contained in the competency standards and basic competencies that must be achieved, identifying the types of teaching materials which are implications of the diversity of teaching materials covering the cognitive domain , affective and psychomotor, determining sources and supporting media for the successful delivery of learning materials and adapting teaching materials to the needs, potentials and development of students. This research recommends further research on the strategies applied by the teacher in the Civics learning process of nasionalism is needed to increase student interest and learning outcomes in Civics subjects.
