One of the traffic engineering devices that functions as a means of controlling traffic speed is the sleeping police (road humps). Road humps are road elevations used to control vehicle speed. Sleeping police facilities are known for various types, including speed bumps, speed humps, and speed tables (flat-top speed humps). In this study, the effectiveness of the installation of road humps in reducing traffic speed was analyzed. The location of the study was on Jalan E.A. Mangindaan. On the road section, several points of research locations are divided to distinguish speed data at locations where there are sleeping police facilities from those where there are no sleeping police facilities. This research method uses a local speed survey method, namely by measuring the speed of four-wheeled vehicles (passenger cars) and two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles) before and after passing the sleeping police (road humps). From the test results above, the results of reduced vehicle speed at the research site were obtained. At the location of Jalan E.A. Mangindaan, the average speed was reduced to 19,27 km/h (74,16%) from 25,99 km/h to 6,721 km/h. This is an effective thing because the speed is reduced to 6,721 km/h. Declared effective when the average speed is reduced to 8 km/h.
