Abstract

Biology is an interesting branch of natural science to study because it discusses about living things. But most students assume that biology s difficult to understand because to learn bology must memorize and use many terms. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the model discovery learning learning influences student learning outcomes in biodiversity material n class X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Siau Barat state high scholl. This study was carried out in the odd semester, namely in the 2018/2019 school year in class X IPA SMA Negeri 1 Siau Barat. Sample used that is in class X IPA 2 totaling 22 students and X IPA 3 totaling 22 students. The results of the study show that the average student learning outcomes using discovery learning models is 82,40 while the average learning outcomes of students who do not use discovery learning models that is 75. The average student learning outcomes that use the discovery learning models will be higher than the learning outcomes of students who do not use discovery learning models.
