Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan kompleks antara media sosial, pembentukan opini publik, dan implikasinya terhadap proses peradilan yang adil dalam konteks hukum kontemporer. Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif berbasis studi literatur, penelitian ini mengkaji berbagai sumber ilmiah termasuk jurnal, buku, dan dokumen hukum yang relevan, dengan analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tren. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan tiga aspek krusial: pertama, media sosial telah secara fundamental mengubah dinamika pembentukan opini publik terhadap kasus hukum melalui algoritma dan fenomena "pengadilan oleh media sosial"; kedua, opini publik yang terbentuk di media sosial memberikan tekanan signifikan terhadap independensi peradilan dengan mempengaruhi perilaku aktor-aktor peradilan; dan ketiga, sistem hukum di berbagai yurisdiksi telah mengembangkan respons regulatori yang beragam untuk menghadapi tantangan ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diperlukan pendekatan multidimensional yang melibatkan reformasi hukum, kerjasama dengan platform digital, dan peningkatan literasi digital masyarakat untuk menjaga keseimbangan antara transparansi peradilan, kebebasan berekspresi, dan integritas sistem hukum di era media sosial.
