Dinamika Pola Asuh pada Masyarakat Urban Perkotaan: Studi Kasus Pada Keluarga Perantau di Kelurahan Pleburan, Kota Semarang

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of parenting patterns in migrant families in Pleburan Village, South Semarang District, Semarang City, within the context of urban life with high mobility, work demands, and time constraints that impact family interactions. The focus of this study is to understand the parenting patterns implemented by parents and to examine how urban life influences parenting practices and parent-child relationships. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation with eight informants, consisting of four parents and four children. The results of the study indicate that the parenting pattern applied tends toward authoritative parenting, characterized by a balance between rules and attention, where parents still set boundaries but also provide space for children to communicate and express their opinions. Furthermore, urban life also influences the intensity of family interactions, resulting in adaptive and flexible parenting patterns. Thus, parenting patterns in migrant families in Pleburan Village are the result of a process of adaptation to the demands of urban life, which creates a dynamic relationship between parents and children.
