This study aims to identify and describe the efforts of teachers in improving student discipline in Civics learning at SMA Negeri 1 Tompaso. The method used is descriptive qualitative, by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The data collected is then selected and analyzed by giving meaning to the data that has been collected and from there conclusions are drawn. The results of this study indicate that the teacher has tried to discipline students by using various ways to show that the teacher has been able to foster student discipline, the teacher has been able to follow the steps planned in the syllabus, lesson plans, and other teaching materials. Teachers have not been optimal in carrying out coaching to students, because students only listen not do. For this reason, as a teacher, of course, not only being an educator and teacher for students, but also being able to be a role model for students. Teachers must learn and understand more deeply about the importance of discipline for students for the future of students in order to have good character.
