AbstractThe problem in this study is limited to community participation in village development. This study aims to determine community participation in the development of Menggawa 1 Village, Tamako District, Sangihe Islands Regency. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The research instrument is the researcher himself with data sources from village officials, community leaders and the community. Data collection is done with three kinds of techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed. The results of the study indicate that community participation in development in Menggawa 1 Village, Tamako District, Sangihe Islands Regency as a whole has not been said to be good where it can be seen that there are still many people who do not participate in planning and implementing village development. Therefore, to improve village development, the community should be more active in development activities and also for village officials should be able to motivate the community to participate in village development activities.
