Abstract

The aim of the researcher in making this literature review were obtained the talent management strategies in an effort to improve the competence of employees in private and government companies. This literature review uses a systematic literature review approach. This method supports management science researchers to use the current evidence-based literature to reach science-based findings. Based on the research conducted by the researcher, several strategies were obtained that can be used to improve employee competence, including (1) improving non-financial outcomes at the employee level such as job satisfaction, motivation to perform, commitment, quality of work, and increasing qualifications, (2) implementing talent management theories, such as those of Darmin and Afifah, (3) aligning talent strategy with business strategy. This can be seen by the company's decision to develop employees who already exist in the company with the intent and purpose so that these employees are more in line with the main objectives of the company's vision and mission, (4) performance appraisals are made based on company policies. The performance appraisal system is called assessment 3600, this assessment is carried out online, (5) provides facilities in the employee development process by providing training, constructive seminars, and also other mentoring facilities for both talented and non-talented employees, (6) the most important aspects from the success of this talent management program, the company implements a talent mindset for all employees before implementing this program. This is very necessary because with the embedded goals and the same mindset, the program will be carried out well and will achieve the common goals to the maximum.
