Author Guidelines

  1. Introduction

Bloom Journal is a peer-reviewed academic publication dedicated to sharing research findings with educators and scholars in the field of Primary School education. Its purpose is to serve as a platform for advancing scientific knowledge related to primary education, promoting the exchange of ideas, and supporting the development of teaching methodologies and educational research for educators, administrators, and researchers.

  1. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

The following are the general requirements for manuscript submission:

  • The manuscript must present original research that has not been previously published elsewhere.

  • The manuscript can be written in either Indonesian or English.

  • It must follow the structure outlined in the provided template. The document should be formatted on A4-sized paper (210 x 297 mm), with margins set to 2.54 cm on all sides, using Garamond font, 11pt size, and 1.5 line spacing.

  • Manuscripts should be typed using Microsoft Word, with a word count between 5,000 and 7,000 words, inclusive of tables, figures, and references.

  • Submissions must be free from plagiarism; manuscripts suspected of plagiarism will be rejected. We employ plagiarism detection software to verify the originality of submissions.

  • Manuscripts should be structured into the following sections: Introduction, Literature Review (optional), Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments (optional), and References.

  • The article title should be concise (max 20 words), formatted with capitalized initials, using Garamond 14pt, bold font, with line spacing of 1 and spacing before and after set to 18 pt.

  • Author names should appear below the title, followed by the affiliation and email addresses.

  • Abstracts should be no longer than 150 words, summarizing the research objectives, methods, and findings in both Indonesian and English.

  • Keywords should be listed as important terms (3-8 words) that reflect the content of the article.

  1. Manuscript Structure and Content

  • Title: The title should be clear and precise, with no ambiguous terms. It must be directly related to the focus of the article, formatted in Garamond 14pt, bold, centered, with spacing before 6pt and after 18pt.

  • Abstract: The abstract should not exceed 150 words and must summarize the research objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and limitations (optional). Keywords should follow in alphabetical order.

  • Introduction: The introduction should briefly outline the general context, review relevant literature, and state the research questions, hypothesis, or objectives. It should also present the article’s purpose and its contribution to the field.

  • Methods: This section should detail the research design, data collection methods, instruments, participants, and data analysis techniques, presented narratively.

  • Results and Discussion: This section must present the research findings and provide an interpretation of the results. The findings should be backed by adequate data and should respond to the research questions or hypotheses stated in the introduction.

  • Conclusion: The conclusion should summarize the research outcomes and offer answers to the research questions or hypothesis. It should also mention any limitations of the study and provide suggestions for future research.

  • Acknowledgment: Acknowledgments should be reserved for those who provided support for the research, such as sponsors or respondents, but not family members or supervisors.

  • References: All references must be cited from primary sources, preferably scientific journals, with at least 80% of references being from the past ten years.

  • Tables and Figures: Tables should have a concise title at the top and be formatted with Garamond 10pt, bold for the word "Table," with 1.15 line spacing. Figures should be accompanied by a caption and follow similar formatting to tables.

  • Equations: Equations should be numbered consecutively and placed in parentheses on the right side of the equation. Use normal text for equations, not images.

  1. Citations and References

All sources quoted or referenced in the manuscript must be properly cited. The references should be managed using a reference management tool like Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero. The citation format follows APA 7th Edition guidelines.

  1. Online Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal System (OJS) via the Bloom Journal's E-journal portal (https://).

  • Authors must first register on the system as either an author or reviewer.

  • After registration, log in as an author and click “New Submission.” The submission process includes five stages: (1) Start, (2) Upload Submission, (3) Enter Metadata, (4) Upload Supplementary Files, (5) Confirmation.

  • In the "Start" stage, select the manuscript type and ensure all checklist items are completed. Authors can add comments in the editor’s box if necessary.

  • In the "Upload Submission" stage, upload the manuscript in MS Word format.

  • In the "Enter Metadata" stage, provide all author details, including journal title, abstract, keywords, and references.

  • In the "Confirmation" stage, review the submitted data and click "Finish Submission."
