INVESTIGATING THE EFFECTIVENES OF ENGLISH SPELLING BEE GAME ON STUDENTS' VOCABULARY MASTERY

This study aims at proving whether the use of english spelling bee game is effective to improve vocabulary mastery of the sevent grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano or not. This research was quantitative research in the of pre-experimental research with one group pretest and posttest design conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano, where 22 students of sevent grade students in academic year 2023/2024 where the subject of the research. In this research used purposive sampling. The instument used to collect the data was a test. The data were from pretest (before treatment) and posttest (after treatment). The result showed the pretest means is 48.90 and mean score of pretest is 80.00, so the score posttest higher than the pretest. Based on this result it can be calculated that the spelling bee game is effective to improve students’ vocabulary mastery.
